Inspire Series Webisode 9- Judgmental Women

This has to be one of my favorite webisodes of the Inspire Series. My guests, Sheila Ojei, Seun Awogbade and Lydia Sobogun weren’t only upfront about how judgmental they have been in the past but, I believe, we took a big step towards understanding the reasons behind ‘judgmental women’.

As external as the activity of judgement and criticism is, my guest and I discovered that it is fueled by our own internal insecurities and fears. We want acceptance, praise, and validation and to be ahead. When we don’t get what we want, we act out. We become mean girls, make harsh statements and put others down. Being judgement becomes  a way for us to hide our insecurities and fears instead of being open about who we are and our vulnerabilities.

We are so aware of our inadequacies that the fear of being unaccepted by others, sometimes forces us to become someone else. Sometimes its easier to become the person sitting beside you than the person you see in the mirror. It is easier to follow what society says, instead of digging deeper into who you are and what you are called to be.

I learnt so much from this episode and I hope you do too….dont forget to drop us a line on inspiredbyglory.com or on glory@inspiredbyglory.com.

Glory this is the best webisode you’ve made. Its more entertaining. i laughed most of the time while watching it. Nice one dear.
I totally love the lady in blue, that should be Seun, i think. i love her remark on being plus sized and her last words, “grow up”. Shiela and lynda too. I appreciate their ‘truth’ on the issue of being Judgmental and all.
For me, i ‘think’ and i know that what has kept me moving in life is “competition”. Competition has in may ways helped me realize many potentials i never knew i had inside of me. but one thing i have never tried to do is be like another person.
Competition is necessary for success but being judgmental is going the extreme.
I look forward for more entertaining and inspiring webisode.
