IBG: What keeps you grounded?

EI: My mother and her 9 sisters are such realists that I never had the option of not being grounded. The word of God also keeps me grounded as well as an amazing network of awesome women and WE keep each other grounded.

IBG: What has been your biggest entrepreneurial challenge and how have you surmounted it? EI: Starting up a Montessori nursery has been no ball in the park! Just starting has been a major project because it is capital intensive and having to manage laborers involved in refurbishing the building has been very tedious. But like I mentioned, I’m motivated by challenges and so this has been a very interesting experience so far. I am happy to announce that we have now opened the doors for summer school.

IBG: What has been your biggest success?

EI:  Big successes are overrated :). I’m proud of all my achievements, no matter how small. It’s the sum of all the small successes that make the big ones.

IBG: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs?

EI: Start with what you have. Don’t worry about the things that you don’t have, be grateful for what you do have and focus on acquiring the skills you need to move forward. Gather a group of other entrepreneurs who will be your cheerleaders and chief motivators. Find a mentor who is where you want to be and make sure you also give value to the relationship in any way you can. And finally go into business ready to SERVE your clients not to MILK them
