Happy New Year- Become the woman you want to be in 2017
Happy New Year and Welcome to 2017! I pray this year brings with it all your hearts desires and manifold blessings!
I”ll be honest, much of 2016 was a period of trials, errors and more starts and stops than I am happy to admit. At first, I was tempted to beat myself up. Scold myself for not being consistent or ticking off my goals in precise fashion and vow to be more consistent in 2017. But you see life is for the living not the perfect.
The road to becoming the woman you want is filled with pot holes, mistakes, trials, errors, inconsistencies and victories. So you must learn to laugh in the mud and dance in the rain. At least that’s what I (and the many women I admire) have done.
It’s not one of her more famous quotes, but in a recent interview with Oprah, Michelle Obama says
“I didn’t just wake up First Lady. I went to law school, I practiced law, I worked for the city, I ran a non-profit, I was an executive at a hospital…….”
The truth is, contrary to everything Beyonce told us- we don’t just wake up fabulous. We work at it every single day. We grow, we try new things, sometimes we fail and if we are lucky enough we learn. But how do we keep working at it? What are the things we have to learn? What sacrifices do we have to make? What do we do when we get confused, face doubts, lose confidence or feel frustrated? How and when should we celebrate our victories? How do we stay focused and consistent especially when the women we want to become seems so far fetched from the woman we are today?
The short answer is you keep building. No one who starts building a house abandons it just because it rains or the contractor proves inefficient. Rather, you count your losses, re-strategize and keep moving.
And that’s why we are here, to show you how to build and keep moving. Help you build your confidence, coach you on how to lead yourself and teach you how to lay the foundation and build the right structures to create the life you want.
In February, we will be launching a range of personal development courses aimed at doing just that. So please stay tuned and watch this space. In the meantime, did you notice our blog www.inspiredbyglory.com had a miniface lift? It isn’t fully complete yet, but we hope you like what we’ve done so far! Please feel free to leave a message telling us what you think of our new look and if there are any additional changes you think we should make. Also don’t forget to check out a host of new articles we have in 2017!
See ya!
Lots of love,
Glory
